Horizontal Scrolling text

Post by Christopher6206 »

I need some help with this effect in the Bogart titler program. I tried this in "Horizontal Scroller" and "Async. H-Scroll" I have a 44 second title and I have it scrolling across most of the scene. In "Async H-scroll" the scrolling is so slow that it never finishes all the title that I typed in, with the preview and the actual render.. With "Horizontal Scroller" it moves faster and finishes in the preview, but when I render it, it stops after about 2/3rds of the text has finished crawling across. Am I using the wrong effect? What is a better one? Do either of these effects have a limit on how long your horizontal scroll can be? Also the text itself is not in a straight line in places. Some letters are higher or lower that others. Thanks for any help.

So the scene was split into 6 parts, with an Animex animation serving as a background to the text. I had added the animation, and then tried to put the text on top of that. That was the problem. I made a scene of the scene, with Animex animation, and then added the horizontal scroll. All good now.

To test that, I would need the text that has been used on that 44 second effect.
And it's needed to know if the Bogart Titler, Title Studio or the Vertigo Titler had been used to enter the text.
Together with font, style, size...

Testing the first three "normal" paragraphs from that site: https://www.lipsum.com (From "The standard Lorem Ipsum passage, used since the 1500s" until "produces no resultant pleasure?") copied to Vertigo Titler and used with "Standard" font, size 25 for a 44 second horizontal scroll text - it's hardly possible to read so quickly, so I guess your text must have been shorter. But I see no problem rendering that long text here with Bogart 13.3 Windows. :P

Well I figured out a work around so no need to test on my account. But font size was 60, using the standard font, and the standard Bogart titler, white text, no outline, shadow black at 10, smoothness at 10, pointing southeast. I don't think the text itself matters and there are privacy concerns. Thanks.

Re: Horizontal Scrolling text

In another scene I again needed to put some horizontal scrolling text on screen. But this time I wanted to repeat it twice, maybe 3 times. I can see where I can save a page to the archives. I tried saving my text to the archives and then load it at the end of the first page. But that just added a page and left page 1 as blank. And I couldn't navigate through the numbered pages. By the time I gave up I had 5 pages on horizontal scroller, and could not select the page numbers as they are greyed out. I went into Adding Page, and the pages weren't greyed out anymore, so I could delete 4 of them. And I just manually typed it in twice. Copy and paste doesn't work either. So is there an easy way to repeat text without adding a page to the title?

  • The scroll text effects can't use multiple pages :!:
  • It's only possible to create multiple "Boxes" on the screen, all scrolling at the same time at the set positions.
If you need a scroll text multiple times, just split the scene directly in the storyboard into multiple parts and add the same Title FX there. Every title will come in and go out before the next one appears.

If you need the same text to repeat multiple times without a break, the text must be entered into the same Title FX.
