Version: 20.19.15.5126... Does that help?
Yes... It's telling me that you are using an outdated Intel graphics driver that may cause black screens (may be equal to video freezing) and more.
  • You have: 20.19.15.5126
  • You missed: ...5144, ...5166, ...5171 :!:
So I would recommend:
  1. update your Intel graphic driver to the real current version with the [DOWNLOAD] button on this Intel site (and it's installation + Window restart) :!:
  2. if the current version does not help, test BogartSE / Settings / Record,Playback / Playmode = [Simple] and [Standard] to check if one manual setting is working better then [Auto] :!:
  3. if the current driver and both manually set playmodes don't help, download+install and try the Bogart 12.2 Demo version, to see if it's adoptions to the newer Intel drivers would help. Pay attention that the WinPro product in the demo is "active" and should be "hidden" for your 8 year old CPU.
Feedback what solved the problem would be nice. But be sure to import 1-2 new scenes for testing after the driver update :!:

:?: There is no v7.63... The latest update for the outdated v7 from 2014 is the version 7.23("c" for MacroMotion Club members).
GeorgeDuncan wrote: Fri Jul 30, 2021 4:01 amI have an i5 processor and an Intel video card with an up to date driver.
As I learned the last days, the Intel driver update software does not always show the correct driver - or specific manufacturers alter the original Intel drivers, so up-to-date drivers can't be used. Please tell us the exact processor number (i5-xxxx) and exact driver version. Only then it is possible to see if there are any newer available :!:

BUT: Only the latest BogartSE software is adopted to work with the latest drivers. So maybe your 7 year old BogartSE 7 needs to stay on old drivers from 2020, or you update to BogartSE 12 (with a 20% discount until September 13th 2021).Image
Hello Michael,

You kindly asked for the specs of my PC wh
The PC has the following specs:

HP Elite Desk 800 G1 TWR PC
Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3,20GHz

Intel (R) HD Graphics 4600
Driver Date: 21.01.2021
Version: 20.19.15.5126

As I mentioned to Mike Dyson, if I thought the problem was solved, I would probably update to V.12 but I would not want to risk a recurrence.

I hope you might be able to help in this matter.

Very best wishes, George Duncan.

Michael,

The demo version of V.12 works perfectly i.e. video clips move as normal.

At Mike Dyson's suggestion, when I 'hide' V.12 - V.8, leaving V.7 it also works fine.

It is just my original V.23c that will not work properly and I wonder why this is?

Regards, George Duncan.

Very many thanks Michael, your last suggestion proved to be the answer.

I checked 'Record/Playback in Settings and it was set on Auto.

When I altered it to SIMPLE, hey presto, it worked perfectly playing video as normal.

What I cannot understand is WHY have such a setting as Auto or Standard at all as they only play as stills.

Surely the point of a VIDEO editing programme is movement!

At the very least, surely it should flag up a warning when selected that it will only show stills?

However, I am delighted to get back to normality and I will be VERY careful what I select in future!

Once again Michael, many thanks.

Best wishes, George Duncan. :D

Since the Windows operating system is continuously updated by its manufacturer Microsoft every month, manual adoptions may be needed in outdated software versions :!: An old software version from 2014 can't have a warning message for changes that might come 7 years later within the operating system. :?

As seen in the v12 demo, a current version works in "auto" mode. Image

Now it's fonts!

Would the continuous updating by Windows explain why I find myself confined to using just a single font, namely 'Lynn'

I have added several favourite fonts and have used them extensively in the past, now I find that whatever font I input it reverts to Lynn.

Has anybody had a similar problem with V7.23c recently?

George

I've stayed current with Bogart and I haven't encountered any problems caused by Windows updates. I was curious about your losing fonts so I ran an internet search using the term:

Missing fonts after windows 10 update

The results seem to add another reason to upgrade to Bogart 12.

The "c" version has been withdrawn bei the MacroMotion GmbH because of the font problem.
Just uninstall and use the last v7.23 as listed here: https://macromotion.info/version-en :!:

Then self imported fonts will be usable again. And yes, Bogart 12 also fixed that bug.
